Governance
A democratically elected School Governing Body represents all stakeholders (Parents, Educators and Non-Educators) in accordance with the South African School’s Act. The SGB is representative of the school community and its main task is to ensure sound financial practices at the school.
The school management team (SMT) comprises of the Principal, two (2) Deputy Principals, eight (8) Departmental Heads and one (1) Head Therapist. The SMT is responsible for the daily running of the school as well as providing professional leadership to a varied group of hundred (100) highly motivated, dedicated and skilled staff members.
The school utilises sound management principles and therefore a School Development Plan is developed, reflecting the following criteria that are used for School Improvement purposes:
Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school to provide a stable and supportive learning environment.
Strong and effective leadership that guides the school towards continuous growth and excellence.
A democratically elected governing body overseeing accountability, financial health, and stakeholder representation.
Committed to ongoing professional growth and delivering high standards in classroom instruction.
Providing a well-rounded curriculum supported by appropriate learning materials and resources.
Recognising and fostering excellence in teaching to benefit learner outcomes.
Maintaining a safe and respectful environment that supports learning and wellbeing.
Upkeeping facilities and resources to create a conducive space for education and development.
Building strong partnerships with families and the wider community to support learners’ success.
A multi-disciplinary team of well-qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic staff members have been identified as one the school’s strongest assets. The staff members provide an individualised and specialised school programme to address the individualised needs of the learners at the school.
